Centennial Farm

ON THE RIDGE

About Centennial Farm

Centennial Farm on the Ridge is nestled in the Starved Rock region. Our farmstead is located ten miles south of Ottawa, Illinois. We are a short twenty minute drive from hotels, scenic downtown Ottawa, and an assortment of local wedding vendors.

Whether your dream includes a casual atmosphere with a ceremony under the trees and a couple of food trucks or a more elegant event with beautiful linens and fine China, we have the space for you.

Our barns and grounds are currently under renovation with events beginning in 2025. Throughout our first years, we will continue to complete a series of renovations to provide you with peak wedding functionality while preserving the charm of our buildings and grounds.

It is our goal to create a comfortable and laid back event experience for you. With this, Centennial Farm will host just one wedding per weekend. Couples will have the opportunity to arrive on Friday afternoon, rehearse on Friday evening, enjoy time with loved ones on Saturday, and pack up your belongings in a relaxed manner on Sunday morning.

Origin of Centennial Farm

A Centennial Farm is an agricultural property that has been owned by the same family for at least 100 years.

The Granby family, owners of Centennial Farm on the Ridge, are rooted in agriculture. Agriculture has been a facet of Austin Granby's life as he grew up on a horticulture operation, participated in 4H and FFA, and now actively participates in the Farm Bureau. Growing up on the outskirts of a small town, Kelsey Granby appreciated the outdoors and was introduced to agriculture when meeting Austin. Kelsey and Austin have always known that agriculture would continue to be important to them as they grow their family in the coming years. Thus the name Centennial Farm. Austin and Kelsey hope to build this property into a space that their family and yours will grow and cherish for many years and lifetimes.

Origin of "On the Ridge"

The nearby village of Grand Ridge was named due to officials of the Railroad discovering a point on a nearby farm that is the highest point of land on the road from Streator to Aurora. Community and roots are very important to the Granby family. 'On the ridge' signifies the location of our farmstead and gives background into the origin of the community.
